JP Garza drove in four runs on five hits to lead Lions past Van Horn 27-6 on Friday.

Garza singled in the fourth scoring two, singled in the first scoring one, singled in the second scoring one, and singled in the fifth scoring one.

Lions got on the board in the top of the first inning after Garza singled, scoring one run, an error scored one run, Trey Preddy singled, scoring one run, Hudson Fowler singled, scoring one run, Robert Barrera doubled, scoring two runs, and Dusty Smith doubled, scoring one run.

Lions scored eight runs on five hits in the top of the second inning. Barrera drew a walk, scoring one run, Smith doubled, scoring three runs, Christian Villarreal singled, scoring one run, Garza singled, scoring one run, and Jacoby Ramos singled, scoring two runs.

Lions added one run in the third. Michael Daniels singled, making the score 16-0.

Lions scored six runs on three hits in the top of the fourth inning. Barrera drew a walk, scoring one run, Rielee Barrera drew a walk, scoring one run, Villarreal singled, scoring two runs, and Garza singled, scoring two runs.

Van Horn scored six runs on one hit in the bottom of the fourth inning. Santiago Cabezuela singled, scoring one run, Rudy Ortega drew a walk, scoring one run, Ernie Gonzalez drew a walk, scoring one run, and #23 drew a walk, scoring one run.

Lions scored five runs on three hits in the top of the fifth inning. Rogelio Estrada singled, scoring one run, Daniels singled, scoring three runs, and Garza singled, scoring one run.

Seth Childress earned the win for Lions. The right-handed pitcher surrendered one hit and zero runs over two and two-thirds innings, striking out five and walking two.

Robert Alvarado took the loss for Van Horn.

The starting pitcher went three innings, giving up 16 runs (nine earned) on 13 hits, striking out one and walking four. Daniels appeared in relief for Lions.

Lions amassed 19 hits in the game.

Villarreal, Daniels, and Ramos each collected multiple hits for Lions. Lions had a strong eye at the plate, collecting 10 walks for the game. Barrera, Preddy, Barrera, and Childress led the team with two bases on balls each. Villarreal, Garza, and Preddy each stole multiple bases for Lions. Lions ran wild on the base paths, collecting 11 stolen bases for the game. Lions turned one double play in the game.
