The UIL Academic team competed at the regional meet on Friday at WTAMU in Canyon.
We have two students who qualified to compete at the UIL State Academic Meet. Audrey Upham and Hudson Fowler will travel to Austin and compete on May 16 and 17. Audrey placed 2nd in Computer Science, and Hudson placed 3rd in Social Studies.
We also have two state alternates for the UIL State Academic Meet. Audrey Upham placed 4th in Copy Editing and is the state alternate, and Devin Cornett placed 4th in Computer Science and is the state alternate.
The Computer Science team placed 3rd. Members are Audrey Upham, Devin Cornett, Gabriel Fullingim, and Nicholas Ramon.
The Social Studies team placed 3rd. Members are Hudson Fowler, Sebastian Fullingim, Tristyn Timms, and Brylee Gutierrez.
The Calculator Applications team placed 4th. Members are Mia Davidson, Sebastian Fullingim, Rogelio Capetillo, and Audrey Upham.
The Number Sense team placed 5th. Members are Audrey Upham, Sebastian Fullingim, Gabriel Fullingim, and Moses Ramirez.
The Mathematics team placed 7th. Members are Devin Cornett, Sebastian Fullingim, Audrey Upham, and Mia Davidson.
Ozona placed 14th out of 51 team.
We are proud of the success and hard work our students and coaches invested in the season, and we are thankful we will have our regional and state qualifiers returning to compete next year.
