Ozona Varsity Lady Lions easily dispatched McCamey Varsity Lady Badgers on Tuesday, 12-2.

Ozona Varsity Lady Lions jumped out to the lead in the top of the first inning after an error scored one run, Aleah Sarabia singled, scoring one run, Kaydee Timms drew a walk, scoring one run, and Teagan O’bryant doubled, scoring one run.

A ground out by Sarabia, and a single by Timms helped Ozona Varsity Lady Lions extend their early lead in the second.

Sarabia started in the circle for Ozona Varsity Lady Lions. The starting pitcher surrendered one hit and zero runs over three innings, striking out two and walking none. Mylin Saenz opened the game for McCamey Varsity Lady Badgers. The starter gave up seven hits and 12 runs (nine earned) over three and two-thirds innings, striking out two and walking seven. Katy Vargas appeared in relief for Ozona Varsity Lady Lions.

Ozona Varsity Lady Lions's O’bryant, the number nine hitter, led Ozona Varsity Lady Lions with two hits in three at bats. Mercedes Perez, Destiny Dominguez, Sarabia, and O’bryant each drove in one run for Ozona Varsity Lady Lions. Monica Rodriguez paced Ozona Varsity Lady Lions with three walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, accumulating nine walks for the game. Mia Rodriguez stole two bases. Ozona Varsity Lady Lions stole six bases in the game. Ozona Varsity Lady Lions turned one double play in the game.

Phoebe Carrillo led McCamey Varsity Lady Badgers with one run batted in.  Alexis James went 1-for-2 at the plate to lead McCamey Varsity Lady Badgers in hits. McCamey Varsity Lady Badgers turned one double play in the game.

Ozona Varsity Lady Lions welcome Van Horn on Tuesday for their next game.
